“The number you are trying to reach has been disconnected…”
Have you ever tried to connect with the Divine and gotten a feeling like the recorded messages you get when you dial a disconnected number? If so, know that you’re not alone! It’s something we all go through from time to time. Sometimes the chaos that we deal with on a daily basis starts to grow out of control and we find ourselves feeling less and less grounded, less and less centered. Even worse, we tend to feel guilty about being off track, which makes it even harder to get back to where we want and need to be. The good news here is that you don’t have to make some grand gesture like committing to meditating an hour a day at sunrise to get back on track!
What if I told you a simple 5-10 minute ritual can reconnect you to your path? The premise here is that when we ritualize actions and repeat those rituals, the ritual acts as a trigger for us to raise our vibrations which makes it easier for us to connect with the Divine. Think about the rituals in your life for a moment…once you got started did you focus on the actions (I need to do this, then this, then that) or on the connections with the Divine? Rituals, once they’ve been established, become actions we can do without thinking about them so that we’re able to get into and benefit from the flow of energy created by the ritual itself.
Ritual helps you create the flow, but flow requires consistency to be effective. Here are a few examples of rituals that you can do in less than 10 minutes each day. By the time your coffee is ready in the morning, you can get into the flow and be ready for whatever your day throws at you!
- Visualization is a great way to set your day but if you have problems visualizing or staying within your vision, it can be frustrating (and who needs that?!?!). A short and simple solution could be as easy as turning your visions into a moving vision board with your own soundtrack. There are some amazing examples of vision boards on Pinterest but let your imagination go wild! Use inspirational pictures, affirmations, music and so on to bring your visualizations to life. Spending 20 minutes creating your masterpiece will give you a 2-minute movie that you can watch every morning to set the tone for the rest of your day!
- Meditation is something that many people find difficult but the benefits make it a habit worth developing. This practice releases us from our chattering monkey mind so that we can connect (or reconnect) with our higher selves. When most people think of meditating, they tend to see images of monks sitting absolutely still for days at a time. While this is ONE path, it’s not the only one! Runners can reach a meditative state while running…dancers can do so by dancing…I’ve even been known to get there when I’m drawing. Something else you can try is listening to a guided meditation with binaural beats. Essentially, listening to these types of meditations (YouTube has tons of them you can try) puts your brain into the deeper frequency of the meditative state. See, no need to run off to an ashram to learn meditation. With these videos, you can raise your vibration in as little as 15 minutes.
- Intention is closely connected with our vibrations which are closely connected to our connection to the Divine. Setting your intention each day puts you in alignment with the Universe and guides you to a receptive state, opens you up to receive everything the Universe has in mind for you. How do you want to feel today? Abundant? Joyful? Loved? Confident? State your intent to feel those things and then supercharge your intent by thinking of an action that you can do to actually feel that way. “Today I intend to feel the abundance the Universe has in store for me and I will open three channels in my business that will allow that abundance to flow into my life.” Not so hard, right?
- Manifesting gratitude is probably one of the most important mindsets for you to master. When you set aside time each day to think about the things you’re grateful for, you are putting yourself into a receiving mode. Having gratitude for what you already have opens you up to the abundance all around you and raises your energy vibration significantly!
These are just some of the ideas I’ve come up with. Hopefully, they inspire you to come up with your own little daily rituals to keep you connected even when life is trying to get in your way! So if you find yourself disconnected, take a deep breath, get centered, and try your call again.
